About me.

I’m Laura, Integral Eye Movement Advanced Practitioner, and it is my passion to help others deal with and overcome stressful or traumatic events.

I  grew up in Devon where in my late teens I struggled with my Mental Health I had been diagnosed with Anxiety, Depression and PTSD and before I reached 19 years of age I developed addictive behaviors and substance misuse issues. I had suicidal attempts in my early 20's.

Previously diagnosed with Chronic Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, I have first-hand experience of chronic illness and know how frustrating the recovery process can be. The more trauma I overcame the less physical pain I experienced. A positive side to chronic illness is that it forces our body to stop and shutdown, during which if the person begins listening to their body great healing can take place. I had tried various therapies until I discovered Eye Movement Therapy. I first experienced Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), through the NHS in the UK, and then became fascinated with my own recovery and how quickly the shifts from my Traumatic memories began processing. Inspired by my experience I then studied Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT), which I’ve found to be even quicker at shifting traumatic memories. I focused on the negative behavioural patterns that I was continually experiencing due to looping (revisiting memories).  IEMT enabled me to benefit from an even quicker recovery and I no longer felt stuck and like there was a block in my way to my best self.

I have many years’ experience of working in mental health environments with children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. I currently work two days a week in Children's sexual/ criminal exploitation services.

There are numerous methods that can be practiced when assisting others in a journey to become their best self. I utilize a variety of techniques, focusing on Eye Movement Therapy, talking therapies  Core Transformation, Life Coaching and Neuro Linguistic Programming.

I know from my own life experiences and from supporting others, that living with increased levels of stress and trauma can often produce both mental and physical health issues. These can be hard to address and overcome, and at times seem impossible to deal with, like a block in the way. However, with assistance, support and guidance a positive outcome is possible, and the blocks can be removed. I have made it my life’s mission to continue to develop my understanding and expertise of the link between emotions and the body and use this this to support others.

I am always looking to further my knowledge and expertise in trauma on both the emotional and physical level.

I believe not only that trauma is possible, but the healing process can be a catalyst for profound awakening.
